We cannot allow The Woodlands to become a “pass through” community. I will continue in my fight against these extensions that will inevitably bring in more traffic and increased crime. Secondly, Montgomery County does not have a comprehensive mobility plan, yet they continue to propose road extensions such as Woodlands Parkway to the west of FM 2978, and Gosling to the north toward Conroe. This leveling out of tax receipts with continued flat sales tax revenue, is going to force us to take a focused look at our annual and five-year budget planning cycles ensuring The Woodlands maintain our high quality of services and keep our property taxes low. As Hughes Corp/The Woodlands Development Company completes residential build out and the commercial development completes, our property tax receipts will level out. Question: What do you think are the two top issues facing The Woodlands?įillault: The budget and mobility are our top two issues. ![]() Township services such as clean parks, maintained pathways and pools are one of The Woodlands hallmarks, and one of my biggest sources of pride as a resident, so my priority is to ensure our community is safe and that The Woodlands remains the best place to live in Texas. Question: Why do feel you are the best qualified, or why should voters should vote for you?įillault: Residents come first, and I continue to stand up to outside interests, such as the contentious Woodlands Parkway extension. ![]()
